SCHOLARSHIP

MACKENZIE WEBSTER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Mackenzie Webster Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the memory of Mackenzie Scott Webster, who was a rising senior for the Class of 2015, at Jefferson Davis Academy.

This is a full-tuition scholarship to attend the Academy and is open to any new JDA student entering a high school grade level. This merit-based scholarship provides the opportunity for deserving students to apply themselves through academics, athletics, and extra-curricular activities. It is hoped the scholar(s), much like Mackenzie Webster himself, will actively seek opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities like the arts, athletics, community service, and/or student governance.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • This scholarship is open to students entering the high school grade level; however, the scholar must be new to Jefferson Davis Academy.
  • The scholar must strive to be a good citizen who will contribute to the JDA family and demonstrate respect for his/her teachers, the administration, and his/her fellow students.
  • The scholar shall strive to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for the school year and will actively seek opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities like the arts, athletics, community service, and/or student governance.
  • The scholar must also comply with the rules and procedures as set forth in the Jefferson Davis Academy Student Handbook for the given school year. The student must have not been suspended from school during the scholarship year, and the scholar must be on track for a college prep high school diploma.

Application Process:

  • Applications must be submitted prior to student enrolling at the Academy.
  • Applications must be submitted prior to first day of school year that scholarship is awarded.
  • A personal interview will be required of all scholarship finalists.
